Mrs. S. G. Elliot, Auckland, is staying with her mother, Mrs. J. A. Valentine. Mrs. W. Berry, Gisborne, is the guest of Mrs. H. D. Maxwell, Omata. Mrs. W. Gentles and Miss E. Harlow will return to-day from a short visjt to Wellington. Mrs. W. Shaw has returned to Stratford.
Mrs. M. McKay, Gisborne, is the guest of Mrs. H. Price.
Miss Agnes Wilson entertained collectors of the central branch oi the British and Foreign Bible Society at her home on Tuesday. Mrs. A. G. Harvey, Waverley, will arrive during the week-end to spend a holiday as the guest of Mrs- T. C. List. Mrs. R. A. Ross and family left New Plymouth on Wednesday to live at Auckland.
Mis. H. G. McDonald entertained on Thursday afternoon in honour of Miss Dorothy Baker, who will shortly leave for Canada.
Miss May Burke, Te Aroha, is the guest of Miss N. Campbell. Mrs. R. Giblin has returned to Wanganui.
Mrs. N. Rix-Trott, who has been staying with her mother, Mrs. E. Griffiths, for some months, will return to Marton to-day. Miss B. Sumner will accompany her.
Mrs. R. Wall and Miss Betty Wall, Mt. Pleasant Station, -Pukerua. Bay, who visited New Plymouth this week, left on Friday for Auckland. Miss M. Bellerby and. Miss L. : B. H. Carey, of the New Plymouth Hospital Staff, will leave on Monday for a holiday in the south. Miss Dorothy Baker, New Plymouth, will leave this mprqing for Wellington, whence she will sail by the Makura on Tuesday for Canada. Miss Baker, who has been teaching at Opotiki, is going on exchange to the Alberta. Education Department, and will be stationed at Edmonton.

Morey, Miss N, Moyes, Miss H. Rutherford, Mbs Cuff and Miss M. Latter. Mrs; K. Gaynor, Masterton, who has been staying with her sister, - Mrs. J. Harte, has left on a holiday trip to the Franz Josef Glacier. .
Mrs. R. Foggin, who has been visiting Palmerston Noirih and Wellington, has. returned to New Plymouth. . Misg .M, B. Johnstone, Tataraimaka, is visiting friends and; relatives at Feilding.

At the Taranaki Women’s Club , on Wednesday afternoon ,a contract bridge party was held in the lounge, which had been decorated with large bowls of golden wattle arid vases pf peony pink, camellias. Six tables wore; engaged, in play, and Mrs. F. S. Johns was the prizewinner.
nog Bridge. A successful flag bridge afterpoop was held recently in the Alexander Hall. New Plymouth, to raise funds for' the Y.W.CA. basketball team. Prizewinners were Mesdames Garcia, Wright, and. Vivian. At the flag table were Mesdames Andrews, Pearson and- Jones. The committee in change of the gathering comprised Mesdames Walker, Garcia, Royse and Chivers. Afternoon tea was provided by members of the basketball team and friends.
