DEATH OF MR. G. W. RUSSELL. CAREER OF NOTED IRISHMAN. By Telegraph—Press Association. London, July 17. The death has occurred of Mr. George William Russell (“A.E.”), the Irish writer and painter. Mr. Russell was bom at Lurgan, County Armagh, in'lB67. He was educated at the Rathmines School and later lived in England. He was a successful essayist and poet, and in 1923 became editor of the Irish Statesman, which post he retained until 1936.
