There was a fierce discussion to-night at a conference of the Victorian Returned Soldiers’ Association on a motion urging the immediate return of compulsory military training. ' One section, violently hostile to the motion, talked of “throwing in their badges” if the motion was passed. Opinion was almost equally divided. A serious dispute was averted by an amendment which agreed to the referring of the subject to the sub-branches for discussion.
