ONLY SMALL LEAK

PAKEHA IN WELLINGTON DOCK.

VESSEL TO LEAVE PORT TO-DAY.

By Telegraph—Press Association. , Wellington, Last Night. The Pakeha arrived at 1.30 p.m. after a trip of 26} hours from Port Chalmers and entered the floating dock. Her leak is a very small one and the repairs consist of fixing a small patch over the hole, She should be out of dock to-morrow. She will leave at 5 p.m. on Tuesday for Lyttelton, Bluff, New Plymouth and Auckland, leaving: there on July 28. Both the Timaru and Oamaru harbourmasters deny that the ship touched bottom entering one of these ports. A good deal of reticence was observed when inquiries were made at Dunedin on Friday in regard to the damage to the Pakeha. Captain A. J. Charman, marine superintendent of the Shaw Savill and Albion Co. in the South Island, however, informed a reporter on Saturday that the mishap to the vessel did not occur at Timaru but probably at Oamaru.

Captain Charman added that had it not been for the very low tide on Friday the Pakeha would have been docked at Port Chalmers instead of sending her to Wellington.
