SCATTERED SHOWERS

MILD TEMPERATURES LIKELY. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The weather will be mainly fair in east coast areas south of East Cape, but some scattered showers are probable elsewhere, says the 4 p.m. forecast. Conditions will be cloudy to overcast with some heavy falls of rain in west, coast districts of the South Island and in the far south. Temperatures will be mild. A slight anti-cyclone is moving slowly off the North Island and a depression is approaching the Dominion from the Tasman Sea. Moderate to strong northerly winds are probable, rising to gale force at places, especially in and south of Cook Strait. Seas will be rough south of Cape Egmont and about Cook and Foveaux Straits and elsewhere moderate.
