WEALTHY * A wealthy English youth is. being kept in whbt is virtually a reformatory in Bedfordshire—at his owfi request. He is worth about £35,000, and he has pleaded with the authorities not to send him away. , . About three years ago, when he was 16, he was accused at Lambeth Police Court of being found wafiderihg. His apparent circumstances led to his being sent to what is now known as an “approved school,” but was in those days called a Reformatory- Some months later his father died and left £35,000, which went to his son. The boy was notified, and solicitors suggested approaching the Home Secretary to have him released. But the boy had become so happy at the school that he begged to be allowed to stay, .His request was granted. He now pays about £lOO a year toward his maintenance.
