Miss I. Hamblyn left by the express on Thursday for Wellington. Mrs. G. Sifaith, New Plymouth, was a. visitor -to Midhirst during the week.. Mrs. G. Andersen gave a party in honour of Mrs. G. Smith, New Plymouth, at hep home on Thursday. Mrs. L. Vickers and Mrs. W. Platt were the winners of competitions. Mrs.. A..' Guthrie ' entertained some friends at a card evening on Wednesday. Those present were Mesdames P, Andersen, . Platt, A, Graham, Spencer, Vickers, Carroll,. Day, V. Carroll, Running, Misses To'mbes, -Wardell and N. Andersen. Mrs. V. Carroll was hostess at a card party at her home last Friday afternoon. Mrs. Day was , the winner of the first prize, Mrs. Spencer of the second and Mrs. ■ A.. Graham of the consolation. Among . those'' present were Mesdames Bunning,. A. Graham, C. Carroll, Guthrie, Spencer, P. Andersen, L. Vickers, G. Andersbri. and Blick.
