ADJOURNMENT QF THE DISPUTE. EMPLOYERS’ OFFER CONSIDERED. By Telegraph--Press Association. , 1 Wellington, Last Night. Conciliation Council proceedings which have been held during ffie past two days in the Dominion furniture trades dispute were adjourned until August 6 to allow the workers’ representatives to place the employers' offer before their members. The following matters were agreed upon: Hours of work, termination of employment, classes of workers employed under the award, under rate workers’ clause, preference clause, general conditions, piece wprk provisions and ffi e scope of the award. • The final offer of ffie employers in ffi? matters under dispute was as follows: Two shillings an hour for journeymen, cabinetmakers, casketmakers, upholsterers, chair and frame makers, machinists, wood carvers, turners and polishers; Is lOld an hour for wipe makers and picture framers, 1 ' \ It was agreed that ffie rate of wages to be Paid to workers over the age Of 21 years performing unskilled work in or about 4 factory or yard should be Is gid. For females employed in weaving wire mattresses the following rates were offered: 13s 6d for ffifs first six months, 17s 6d for ffie second six months, £1 2s 6d for the second year, £1 10s for the third year, £1 17s 6d for the fourth year and 7s ®d thereafter. The other clauses remaining in dispute are those governing holidays, improvers and m? a l money.
