Mr. J. A- Lyons, Australian Prime Minister, arrived at Ottawa from Washington just in time to attend a luncheon in his honour arranged by Mr. R._ B. Bennett, who met him at the station, states a cablegram. Tlie death of Mr. Lionel! Thomas Courtenay, who was one of th? three New South Wales senators elected at the last Federal elections, but who had b?en sworn in, occurred at Sydney yesterday, states a cable. He was prominent in Sydney’s municipal and public life. He was §6 year? of age. The Travel League of New South Wales entertained Mr. L. J. Schmitt, New Zealand Trade Commissioner, at luncheon at Sydney, states a • Sydney cable. Many tributes were paid to Mr. Schmitt s work and good wishes for his future were expressed.
