Miss Joan Goodall leaves this morning for Pahiatua where she will be the guest of Miss Ella Wilson. Mrs. C. Forth, Eltham, who is visiting New Plymouth, is the guest of Mrs. E. Lash. Mrs. R. S. Allen, Eltliam, returned to-day. Mrs; R. Darling is the guest of Mrs. H. Ashton. Miss Dena Stone, Taikatu Road, is visiting Dannevirke. MisS Eileen Whitcombe, who has been visiting her sister, Mrs. G. Kempthome, Nelson, for some months, is expected to return to-night. Mrs. A. Alexander left during the week on a visit to her daughter, Mrs. P. J. McMillan, Putaruru. Mrs. S. F. Burgess left by car yesterday'morning on a visit to Hamilton. Mrs. Max Carthy left yesterday for Wellington, where she will live in future.-, Mrs. R. Millward has returned after spending several days at Wanganui. Mrs. W. R. Wade was hostess on Wednesday at a morning tea party for Mrs. P. Prichard, Dannevirke. Mrs. F. H. Waters, who spent a holiday of several weeks at Hastings, has returned to New Plymouth. Mrs. C. Linwood was hostess at tea on Thursday afternoon in honour of Mrs. Alan Powdrell, who recently came to New Plymouth' to live.

Special interest was attached to the reception held at the Lyceum Club at Auckland oii~ Wednesday evening, partly owing to the fact that Her Excellency Viscountess Galway, who. has accepted the position of warden of the club, paid her first visit to the club and partly owing to the fact that the club celebrated its sixteenth birthday. Viscountess Galway, wore a frock of black lace, the skirt ending in a deep circular flounce, and a panelled coat of black .velvet. '

COMING OF AGE PARTY.

At a 21st birthday party given by Mr. and Mrs. K. Leuthard in honour of their daughter Emily Monte Carlo dances were won by Mrs. Manly and Mr. Lee, Miss N. Fake, and Mr. Kerr, Miss E. Hurley and Mr. G. McGuinness. The master of ceremonies was Mrs. J. Dombroski.
