FIFTH CATHOLIC BALL
PUNGAKEHU ANNUAL EVENT. The Pungarehu fifth annual Catholic ball was well attended, Vinsen’s Ambassadors supplying the music. Monte Carlo waltzes were won by Mr. M. Brennan and partner and Mr. Halpin and partner, and a mystery train dance was won by Mr. Harvey and partner. The decoration scheme was carried out in green and gold. Among those present were Mesdames P. Brophy (black lace), T. Doyle (black roumain with fur wrap), B. Doyle (bottle green embossed velvet), R, Fleming (brown check marocain), T. Renton (blue-in-the-mist crinkle crepe), A. J. Brennan (wine lace), P. L. Brennan (cardinal red ripple silk with beige lace and diamante, white panne cape), G. Harvey (dark blue chiffon velvet and silver lace with fur wrap), W. Wright (prune silk), T. Brophy (yellow georgette with creme velvet cape), F. Deacon (tomato crepe-de-chine), E. Gray (black and silver model frock), H. Heisenbuttle (wine marocain), J. W. Priest (blue crinkle crepe), Jr Hopkins (black georgette with black coatee), Murdoch (black crepe with ring velvet and fur coatee), W. Bennett (black georgette), C. Green (black velvet and sequins), W. Stanton (midnight blue velvet and silver lame), R. Vanner, Misses M. Brophy (yellow georgette with brown and gold applique, honey velvet wrap), C. Corbett (blue satin), E. Gilhooly (orange crepe-de-chine). Mesdames T. Renton and M. Doyle were in charge of the supper arrangements. The masters of ceremonies were Mr. R. B. Fleming and Mr. T. .Gilhooly.
