CLEM DAWE’S REVUE COMPANY.
SEASON AT NEW PLYMOUTH. The box plan will be opened at Collier’s this morning at 9 o’clock for the appearance at . New Plymouth , of the popular comedian Clem Dawe and his company of 40 revue artists at the Opera House on Monday and Tuesday. Clem Dawe’s Auckland season was extended to no less than 20 weeks, and it was only because the theatre had been booked ahead that the company did not remain for a much longer period. Record seasons were also played at Wellington and .Christchurch. All the' revues comprise bright music, song and patter, and, in addition to the clever composition of the playettes and the entertaining and arriusing maimer of their execution, the show is said to possess a. range of splendid vocal performers. In the centre of all the fun making is the inimitable Clem Dawe, who succeeds less by innuendo than by his clever versatility. “They are,” wrote a critic, “a group of pleasant people who revel in their work of cheering those who come to hear them.” Associated, with Clem Dawe are Dorothy White, Eric Edgley, Les White, Joe Shriner and Cliff O’Keefe, and in every scene they: create laughter. /Big features are the ballets and ensembles, the singing-*, and the acrobatics. Miss Muriel O’Malley and Miss Ann Luciano in songs at the pianb became highly popular at Auckland. It is claimed that never before have two such remarkably fine adagio dancers appeared in New Zealand as Halliday and Watson with their thrilling acrobatic dances. The company includes Gregory Ivanoff, the famous Russian . violinist. , The work of a team of talented-young Australian baUet dancers is a feature of the revue. There will- be a-complete new revue each evening.
