SUBSTANTIAL RISE IN EGGS. NEW PLYMOUTH QUOTATIONS. The only material alteration in market prices at New Plymouth during the week was another sharp rise in the price of eggs, which are now 2s 6d buying and 2s 9d selling. Yesterday’s quotations were:— Fruit: Apples, Jonathan, 41b. for Is; Sturmers, 41b. for Is; Delicious, 31b. for Is; Grannie Smith, 31b. for Is; winesaps, 31b. for Is; Ballarat, 41b. for Is; oranges, Sunkist, 5 for Is; lemons, Tauranga, 8 for Is; bananas, 2|lb. for Is; pears, 4d per lb.: Sunkist grape fruit, 6d each; pineapples, Is each; mandarines, 10 for Is; tomatoes, 6d lb.; tree tomatoes, 6d lb.; chokoes, 3d and 4d each.
