HAMILTON TROTTING
WATKATO CLUB MEETING PROBLEMS FACING THE PUBLIC. BINGEN CHIEF; JACKIE THORPE. (By Telegraph—Special to* News.) Auckland, Last Night. Owing to the horses in the 4.34 and 2.47 classes figuring in both events at the Waikato Trotting Club’s meeting, which will take place to-morrow, the problem in the Waikato Handicap and the Dominion Handicap is not easy of solution, while the same complicated situation arises in several other races. The only exception is the trotters’ event, of which there is only one item carded, and it should furnish a good contest between Great Admiral and the improved Meadow King. A feature of the acceptances is that all the Cambridge winners are taking part, and if they reproduce the same efforts they will again prove difficult tb beat. A newcomer in the Ashhurst mare, Electric Bell, will cause a lot of trouble in her races, as she was one of the best pacers seen at Hawera. Bingen Chief and' Jackie Thorpe are in great order, and if they run in separate races they may start favourites, while the Auckland crack, Impromptu, although a long way back in the big race will invest it with a lot of interest. The unlucky King’s Play may make amends in his only start to-morrow. The following horses are in form and if started in the races mentioned may find solid support:— Improvers’ Handicap: Bismuth, Kan* furly, Cherrill. . . Progressive Handicap: Great Admiral, Meadow King, Native Princess. Waikato Handicap: Bingen Chief, Var Paint, Impromptu. Raglan Handicap: Red Frontier, Tryment, Lady Amanda. Waipa Handicap: King’s Play, Our McKinney, Rockella. Dominion Handicap: Bingen Chief til reserved), Jackie Thorpe, Smooger. Eureka Handicap: Electric Bell, Transworthy, Lady Amanda. Betting will be by the single pool system, with two dividends in fields of five of more starters.
