“THE CAPTAIN HATES THE SEA."
In “The Captain Hates the Sea,” which opens at. the New Plymouth Opera House on Wednesday, the passengers on a trans-Atlantic linen, have adventures which become inter-related in dramatic patterns. There is a crook fleeing with valuable negotiable papers he;has stolen; a detective on his trail; , the crook’s accomplice, a girl, who, because of the detective, is ; obliged. to pose as an innocent librarian; a newspaperman who has failed as a Hollywood scenario writer, and who is returning to try and forget the actress with whom he has fallen in love; a woman with a past, travelling with her husband who is ashamed of her past, and other colourful characters whose stories become intricately inter-woven before the trip is finished.
