ACTIVITIES OF BRANCHES Hurworth: The first meeting was held in the hall on Thursday. Mrs. Taylor, who was elected president, presided over an attendance of 20. Mrs. Kaye, Inglewood, organiser, gave an interesting address on the aims and. work of institutes. Two afternoon tea-cloths, worked with the institute’s flower, a red poppy, were given by Mrs. E. Pepperell. Hostesses for the afternoon were Mrs. E. Pepperell and the Misses W. Pepperell and E. Taylor. Waitara: The monthly meeting was held on Wednesday last, 2b members being present. A competition for a garden in a soup plate was won by Mrs. _F. Dowding. An- address on home nursing was given by Mrs. D. Anderson, and a sales table was under the management of Mrs. C. Limmer. Hostesses were Mesdames Symonds, Spurdie, Smith and Smart.
