AUSTRALIAN TEAM IN ENGLAND. MATCH WITH NEW ZEALAND SOON. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, May 1. The Australian tennis players have arrived at Bournemouth. The only persons to welcome them at the station were Lawn Tennis Association officials and E. D. Andrews, of the New Zealand team. , Andrews told the Australian Press Association that Stedman and Malfroy will play in the singles against Australia. The doubles pair had not been chosen. Andrews has recovered from his sprained ankle. The Zealand team is being coached at London. The Australians go to Eastbourne on May, 4 to practice for the cup tie. BOURNEMOUTH TOURNAMENT. AUSTIN HAS EASY VICTORY. London, May 1. Matches at the Bournemouth tennis tournament resulted:— Men’s singles: Third round: Austin (England) beat Avory (England), 6—0,6— 0, 6—2; Farquharson (South Africa) beat Lee (England), 10—8, 6—4, 6—l; Prenn (Germany) beat Sharpe (England), 7—5, 6—2, 6—l; Perry (England) beat Peters (England),- 7-5, 6-3, 9-7. Women’s singles: Third round: Miss Stammers (England) beat Mrs. Hopman (Australia), 6—4, 6—3; Mrs. Whittingsall (England) beat Senorita Lizana (Chile), 6-3, 4-6, 6-4. Men’s doubles: First round: Farquharson and Kirby (South Africa) beat Sharpe and Tuckey (England), 4—6, 9—7, 2—6, 6—o, 6—3; Perry and Butler (England) beat W. Henderson and Lysaght (England), 6—3, 2—6, 6—4, 6—3. Women’s doubles: Mrs. Pittman and Miss Yorke (England) beat Mrs. Hopman (Australia) and Miss Ford (England), 6—4, 6—2. Combined doubles: Second round; Prenn (Germany) and Miss Dearman (England) beat Peters and Mrs. Peters (England), 7—5, 6—4.
