CARDS TOURNAMENT PRIZES.
An enjoyable evening was spent at the residence of Mr. G. J. Gibbins recently. Euchre and other games were played. The winners of the euchre were Mrs. Priest and Mr. M. Herlihy, the consolation prizes going to Miss J. Jones and Mr. D. Bracegirdle. A paper and pencil competition was won by Mrs. Rishworth and Miss D. Metcalf. Proceeds were in aid of Kaimata Women’s Institute. It is intended to hold a series of house parties in connection with the institute. A cake was won by Mrs. O. Blackbourne. The Kaimata football players turned out in full force for their first practice of the season. e The Kaimata Dairy Company has discontinued receiving milk from its sup- - pliers in order to allow the contractors to demolish the old buildirig and make a start on the new. ■ A thrilling cricket match was played during last week-end between teams comprising married v. single men of the district. Married men emerged victorious by 20 runs. Personal. Mrs. E. Rishworth, Wellington, has been spending a few days with her mother, Mrs. G. Mackie. Mr. and Mrs. D. Herlihy, Taumarunui, are visiting their sori, Mr. W. Herlihy. Miss Priest, New Plymouth, has returned home after visiting her aunt, Mrs. Priest, Kaimata North. Mrs. D. Bracegirdle and family have returned after spending a holiday at Normanby. Mr. H. Cassidy, Auckland, is staying with Mr. and Mrs. L. Ryan. Mrs. Hollins, Cardiff, has returned after visiting her sister, Mrs. Sheppard. Mrs. N. Blackbourne has returned from the New Plymouth hospital. Mr. L. Dravitzki is home again, after a week's holiday at Auckland.
