LABOUR “FASCISM”

MORE POWER FOR MR. J. T. LANG. OLD PARTY STALWARTS OBJECT. By Telegraph—Press Asm.—Copyright Rec. 11.25 p.m. Sydney, April 19. The Easter conference of the New South Wales Labour Party to-day resolved to deprive the Parliamentary Labour'caucus of its time-honoured right of electing its own leader. This decision automatically allows Mr. J. T. Lang to continue in that office. The conference further invested Mr. Lang with the right to select his own Ministry. Many Labour stalwarts described toe innovation as most repugnant and amounting to a form of Fascism. It also forestalls any attempt to remove Mr. Lang from leadership of the Labour Party in the event of Labour losing the forthcoming election. The conference, which unprecedentedly concluded its Easter deliberations f.i one day, affirmed toe desirability of the next Labour Government legalising all starting price betting shops throughout the State.
