LOCAL BODY POLLS
POSITION AT NEW PLYMOUTH, i* * LABOUR PARTY ACTIVE. At a meeting of the New Plymouth branch of the Labour Party last night it was decided to contest seats at the forthcoming local body elections on the New Plymouth Borough Council, the New Plymouth Harbour Board and the Taranaki Hospital Board. A number of prospective candidates were nominated, and the names will go before the Labour Representation Committee for selection. It is expected that the selection will b& made during the coming week-end.
