LODGE BIRTHDAY
. DANCE AT NEW PLYMOUTH. I ■ —~ ■■ - The Pukekura Rebekah Lodge No. 56 of the Independent Order of Oddfellows celebrated its Bth. birthday at New Plymouth on Wednesday. Visiting members of the Order were present from Hula (Hawera), Kiwi Rebekah (Hawera), Star of Naumai Rebekahs (Opunake), Star of Opunake (Opunake), Okaiawa Lodge (Okaiawa), and Paritutu (New Plymouth), and the following friendly societies were represented: Court Pride A.O.F. (New Plymouth), Court Raleigh A.O.F. (Waitara), Loyal Matamata M.U.1.0.0.F. (Matamata), M.U.1.Q.0.F. (New Plymouth), H.A.C.B.S. (New Ply? mouth). H.A.C.B.S. (Opunake), Ye Mt. E'gmont R.A.0.8. (New Plymouth). Novelty dances were won by the following: Introduction Waltz, Miss D. Black and Miss M. Ross; Monte Carlo, Miss. T. Ingram and Dr. Brown; Lucky Spot, MIBS E, Brooks and Mr. A. Black. A. feature of the evening was a twotiered cake made and decorated by Sister Bell, P.G, and Sister Williamson, P.G. The. candles were lit by Sister Raynor, P.G, and blown out by Sister Wright, P.G. The cake was cut by Sister Bleakley, N.G. The M's.C. were Sister M. Jeffries, P.G., and Brother- C. Heatley, P.G.
