PATEA’S SECOND WIN
DEFEAT OF KAPONGA TEAM. VISITORS DISMISSED FOR 41. Patea obtained its second win of the season with a 56 runs margin in a single innings match with Kaponga at Patea in fine weather on Saturday, Kaponga being all out for 41. Harrison, who made 12, was the only visiting pls yer to reach double figures. Half of Patea’s total of 97 was made by Gibbs and Jones, with 25 and 24 respectively, the top scores of the match. Maule, who has played in the Country Association matches this season, more than justified his inclusion, his smart work behind the stumps permitting a close field that was materially responsible for Kaponga’s small total. Reg Eden was caught by Gibbs for none, and both Surgenor and Harrison were dismissed with smart catches by Pauling and Edwards. Harrison took five Patea wickets, dismissing Hamel, "’■ardiner and Edwards for the addition of one run. Details are:— PATEA.
