APPOINTMENT OF OFFICERS. RETIREMENT OF MR. TREADWELL. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, March 23. The annual meeting of the Law Society of New Zealand on Friday elected the following officers: President, Mr. H. F. O’Leary (Wellington); vice-presi-dent, Mr. A. H. Johnstone, K.C. (Auckland); treasurer, Mr. P. Levi (Wellington); management , committee of the solicitors’ fidelity guarantee fund, Messrs. C. H. Treadwell (chairman), E. P. Hay, P. Levi (all, of Wellington), A. H. Mr. C. H. Treadwell announced that he was retiring from the presidency owing to ill-health, and Mr. Donnelly (Christchurch), paying him a tribute, said that all members of the council felt the deepest gratitude for the work done by Mr. Treadwell for the society over a longer period than the lifetime.of some of those present at the meeting. Speakers from other centres associated themselves with the remarks of Mr. Donnelly.
