TOKIRIMA SCHOOL
ANNUAL PICNIC HELD. The Tokirima school held its annual picnic at Grants’ Ford on Saturday. An enjoyable day was spent by old and young. Results of the races were: Primer boys, B. Puree 1, R. Finlay 2, J. de Malmanche 3; standards 1 and 2 boys, E. de Malmanche 1, W. Thompson 2; senior boys, J. Howard 1, A. French 2, T. Blank 3; senior girls, H. Urick 1, O. French 2, R. Thompson 3; junior girls, I. Curtis 1, M. Thompson 3; intermediate boys, P. McKenzie 1, N. French 2, J. Pierce 3; junior open handicap, V. Pierce 1, T. Blank 2, J. de Malmanche 3; senior open handicap, H. Urick 1, R. Thompson 2, F. Blank 3; boys’ wheelbarrow, J. de Malmanche and C. Baunton 1; girls’ wheelbarrow race, R. Thompson and P. Curtis 1; boys’ pick-a-back, S. Tibby and E. de Malmanche 1; girls’ pick-a-back. H. Urick and V. Pierce 1; boys’ three-legged race, T. Blank and J. Howard 1; girls’ threelegged race, H. Urick and M. Thompson 1; junior boys’ three-legged race, B. Sandilands and H. French 1; married men’s race, A. Sandilands 1, A. W. Thompson 2; women’s race, Mrs. F. Pierce 1, Miss T. Penny 2, Mrs. C. de Malmanche 3. Tennis for Carnival Funds. A tennis party was held at- the Opatu courts during the week-end, the proceeds being for the Ohura candidate in the Plunket baby carnival. Winners of a Yankee tournament were Miss E. Garcia and Mr. H. Turner, the runner-up being Miss I. Neilson and Mr. R. Coogan. Miniature golf and quoits were played. Personal Item. Mr. B. Old, who lias been indisposed for some time, has recovered sufficiently to return to his home.
