ANNUAL MEETING OF CLUB. PAST SEASON SATISFACTORY. . The annual meeting of the Inglewood United Rugby Football Club was held on Tuesday night. Mr. Roy Coutts presided over a fair attendance. The report stated that all operations of the club were reasonably successful. ' From the financial viewpoint the season finished much as it started, the clubs undertaking having .been according to its -finances. From the playing point of view an all round improvement was shown. The acquisition of the Training Hall created much interest/ and the senior team showed the benefit of the training together and coaching and team work. The senior team showed good promise, and the drawn games with the two leading teams were proof of the standard of play. The junior team agaiu S ave a very good account of itself in the competition matches. The third grade team was disorganised at the early part of the season, and had to be built UP. again. So far as the play of all teams is concerned, the acquiring of the hall made a vast amount of difference. The club had the services of Mr., Sinclair as physical instructor and of Mr. Emerson as masseur. The committee expressed appreciation to them and to all the team managers. Several. players reached higher honours. Of the seniors Messrs. Mcßoberts, Steve O’Brype and W. Young all played in the B Representative team, the latter two taking part in the tour to the Bay of Plenty. One or two other players were not available, and r Devereaux was unlucky in meeting with an accident as the season was commencing- Several juniors took part in the annual Town v. Country match, and Messrs. Brown, Mac Kinder and Trigger were selected to play for the Central against the Western junior representative team. . . 3 ± A sub-committee was appointed to hold small dances or social evenings and several ware held from time to time. The committee expressed thanks to all who assisted in any way during the seasonAU present agreed that the past year had been most successful. The following members were elected: R. Rumball, W. Grant, A. and L. BircheU, J. E. Greech, J. Shaw, Bottin, Bums, L. Cramer, J. Russell. Officers elected were: Patron, Mr. C. O’Carroll; president, Mr. R. Coutts; vice presidents, eight; secretary, Mr. C. Seabright; treasurer, Mr. V. Scanlon; hon. auditor, Mr. J. Penn; committee Messrs. V. Devereaux, E. Comey, N. Mackinder, J. RusseU, J. Corbett, jnr. and others ex officio, with power to add, if arrangements could, be made for the Schneider Shield football committee to meet the same night as the Inglewood committee; delegates to the Taranaki Rugby Union, Messrs. Roy Coutts, V. Scanlon and N. Mackinder; delegates to central junior control board, Messrs. Mackinder, Crossan and Peterson senior selector, Mr. L. Ross; junior selector, Mr. N. Mackinder; club coach, left open and if available Mr. L. BircheU . to be approached; club captain, Mr. V. Scanlon; manager of senior team, Mr. S. Allan; first junior manager, Mr. W. Peterson; physical instructor, Mr. G. Barry. The president referred to the provincial scheme in vogue last season, and said he thought aU would agree that it. was most successful, as it had enabled players to meet new clubs. He also thought spectators appreciated, the scheme. Inglewood had been very fortunate in cheap travelling. Opening day wiU be held at the end ef the month with a country versus town match. It was decided to try to arrange a match with Stratford before the commencement of the competition. Practice wiU commence next Monday night and be held every Monday and Wednesday night. Subscriptions were fixed as foUows: senior, se; junior and third, 2s 6d; honorary members, 3s. Previously honorary members’ subscriptions had been Ss, but Mr, KiveU offered to canvass the town for honorary members if the subscription was reduced to 3s, and his offer was accepted. The secretary was voted an honorarium of £3 3s.
