RIFLE SHIELD CHALLENGE

KAPONGA CLUB SEEKS TROPHY. The Kaponga club has challenged for the Associated Rifle Clubs’ Challenge Shield at present’ held by Okato, according to advice received from the secretary of the Taranaki Rifle Associa-

tion. A challenge put in some time ago by the New Plymouth club has been waived and the match between' Kaponga and Okato will take, place shortly. Owing to reconstruction work of the bench and head cover at the Rewa Rewa rifle range, New Plymouth, only nine targets instead of 12 will be available for the Farmers’ Union shooting match on Wednesday. An earlier Mart has been decided on.
