“BIGGEST BOMBSHELL”

TOKO SENIOR TEAM PROPOSED. AFFILIATION WITH THE UNION? Described by one member as. “the ; biggest bombshell dropped at Toko- for years,” a proposal byMr. J. Sangster that the Toko Rugby Union Football Club should enter a team in the senior competition this season caused a sensation at the annual meeting last night. Mr. Sangster claimed that as the Tote club had had to supply so many players to the Stratford senior team, it might well enter a senior team of its own. He moved to that effect in an amendment to a motion that the club nominate a first junior and a fourth.grade team. The amendment was defeated, but it was decided to affiliate direct with the Taranaki Rugby Union so that the club would not be subject to the Stratford club as a parent body, as at present.
