• The ' results of the New Plymouth Cycle and Athletic League’s evening sports at Western Park on Monday evening are:— ' ‘ ! Quarter-mile A grade cycle handicap: T. Hookham (20yds) 1 and L. Stevens (30 yds), dead-heat, 1, G. Stevens (20yds) 3; six started. Time, 34 l-ss. ; One and a-half miles A grade cycle handicap: H. Eva (60yds) 1. L. Wood (scr) 2, L. Stevens (60yds) .3; six started. Eva headed off Wood in the last lap and finished gamely to win by a wheel. Time, 3m 58s.

Quarter-mile B grade cycle handicap: T. Horner (10yds) 1, A. Warren (25yds) 2, T. Curtz (40yds) and D. Bond (syds) dead-heat 3; seven started. Won by half a length, with the dead-heaters a length away. Time, 365. One and a-half miles B grade cycle handicap: W. Ireland (scr) 1, R. Greenlees (20yds) 2, D. Bond (40yds) 3; six started. The scratch rider, Ireland, rode a well-judged race to win by half a length from- Greenlees, with Bond a length away third. Time, 4m 2 3-ss. Half-mile C grade cycle handicap: E. Smith (35yds) 1, L. Smith (50yds) 2, V. Jury (scr) 3; five started. Won by* a length, with three lengths between second and third.’ Time, Im 19s. Two miles A grade points scratch 6ycle race: C. Burke (4yds) and L.
