CITRUS EMBARGO

NO SHIPS TO NORFOLK ISLAND.

NEW ZEALANDERS STRANDED

By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, March 7.

“Because of the embargo upon Australian citrus fruits some 200 or 300 New Zealanders at Norfolk Island have been left high and dry,” said Mr. Harvey Turner at a meeting of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce to-day. He said that because of the embargo the shipping service was cancelled, but he understood that it would be revived if the embargo was lifted. It was decided to ask the Government to exempt Norfolk Island from the embargo.
