TRADE IN BRITAIN

INTERNAL POSITION SOUND.

PERMISSION' NOT JUSTIFIED.

By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright.

London, March 5.

Commenting on the industrial situation Lloyds Bank in its monthly review for March says: “Recent indications show that internal trade on the whole has been well maintained, and that the recent sporadic feeling of pessimism was in no way justified. It is true that the combination of cheap money and restricted opportunities for trade, especially in the international field, diverted a certain quantity of capital into speculative activities of an unsound, character, but the arnount involved was very small and the recent episodes were purely surface movements. “The fundamental trade position of the country remains as sound as it was at the end of last year and current trade statistics are good.”
