SERIOUS DUELLING

MAN BADLY WOUNDED IN FRANCE. WORST AFFRAY IN RECENT YEARS. By Telegraph—Press Assn.™ Copyright. Rec. 6.30 p.m." Paris, March 6. Two deputies, MM. Campinchi and Carbuccia, fought, the most serious duel in France of recent years. M. Carbuccia, editor of the Weekly Gringoire, challenged M. Campinchi, a well-known barrister, owing to letters in which he objected to the Gringoire’s references to him. , Shots were exchanged at 30 paces, both missing, which is the customary signal for reconciliation and kisses.’ The antagonists, however, insisted on further shots, as the result of which M, Campinchi was severely wounded in the arm, necessitating his being sent to hospital. Before the principals and seconds left the field a police inspector arrived and took the names of all concerned.
