PERSONAL AND GENERAL ITEMS. Miss E. Willetts, who has been the guest of Miss T. McConachy, has returned to Wanganui. Miss Eva Parkinson flew to Masterton during the week-end to attend the North Island aero pageant, and was successful in winning a landing competition. Miss M. Johansen, w’ho was the guest of Mrs. W. Dobie, Nukumaru, has returned to Palmerston North. Miss Train has returned to Palmerston North to take up her duties at the Palmerston North hospital after spending her annual leave with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. Train. Miss Cooper has taken up her duties at the Waitotara school as an additional assistant. Owing to wet weather the school picnic was postponed indefinitely. Miss Gilmour, Auckland, is visiting her sister, Mrs. J. Armstrong. WAVERLEY A. AND P. SHOW. arrangements for fixture. A meeting of the ' committee of the Waverley A. and P. Association was held on Saturday, when final arrangements for the coming show were dealt with. The committee has secured the services of Mrs. Bond, Wanganui, for judging the cooking section, and Mrs. Shaw, Stratford, for the sewing section. Other judges had been arranged for at an earlier meeting. It was decided to send a letter of thanks to Mr. R. S. How for his offer to run a free lorn’ to the racecourse on the day of the show. Loading banks for cattle and pigs were left in the hands of Messrs. W. P. Parsons and W. P. Wallace, and it was decided that the front stalls be used for the horses. The carting of timber and hurdles to the course was left in the hands of Mr. J. Lupton and Jackson and Co. to arrange. Mr. A. L. Elmslie gave feed for the cattle, and Mr. A. E. Aiken agreed to attend to the feeding of the stock. ’ The running time of the events is to be arranged by Messrs. W. Heginbotham, D. Lupton and G. P. Spratt. Mr. I. Lupton gave two first prizes of 10s each for the two pony events, Mr. W. P. Wallace second prizes of 3s each, and Mr. G. P. Spratt third prizes of 2s 6d each.

The monthly meeting of the Waverley committee of the Plunket Society was held on Monday. Mrs. Mulholland presided. The nurses reported as follows: Babies on books 77, older children 52, new cases, mothers 5, babies 6, visits to rooms 8 days, visits to homes 4, new 9, old 4: total 13; adults to rooms 92, babies 88> older chijdreji 20.
