There was a large attendance at the flag five hundred held in the hall on Tuesday evening. The first prizes were won by Messrs. R. Smith and D. Radcliffe, playing as women, and Messrs. J. and W. Oxenham. Mr. and Mrs. PThomson and Mr. and Mrs. Pitcathly won the consolation prizes. A special prize given by Mr. and Mrs. Meredith was awarded to Mr. W. Oxenham. While supper was being made ready there were two or three dances.

Mrs. A. Wedge, Pio Pio, is relieving Miss J. Thomson, postmistress, who is on annual leave.

Miss E. Murray spent the' week-end at New Plymouth. Miss J. Thomson is camping at Taurc.nga.
