INVADING BOLIVIA
PARAGUAYAN ARMY CLAIMS. GARRISON OF 300 WIPED OUT. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright Rec. 7 p.m. Asuncion, March 2. The Paraguayan Ministry of Defence in a communique to-day announced that the Paraguayan forces have crossed the Paratiti River to begin the long-expected invasion of Bolivia proper after wiping out a garrison of 300 men at Famachindy. To the south, the message states, the Paraguayans continued pressing the defences at Villamontes, the Bolivian army base, having pushed the defenders back half a mile in some places.
