Alphabetical Advantage.
Taking the Christchurch City Council (seven of the sixteen members of which have names beginning with A or B)' as an example, the council of the United Burgesses’ Association of Christchurch and suburbs agreed at its meeting la £ week that there was a definite alphabetical advantage ~ider the present system of drafting ballot papers. Mr. S. Richardson suggested that the difficulty could be overcome by printing the ballot papers in sections, each section containing the name of the candidates in a different order.
