DUNEDIN’S FAREWELL

LORD AND LADY BLEDISLOE. SERVICES TO THE DOMINION. By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedm, Last Night. The Governor-General and Lady Bledisloe were accorded a civic farewell in the town hall this evening. An attendance of close on 3000 accorded Their Excellencies a rousing reception. The Governor-General was presented with a valedictory address by the Mayor, the Rev. E. T. Cox, who emphasised the distinguished services of Lord Bledisloe to the Dominion. The Governor-General expressed appreciation of the warmth of the reception and regret at leaving the Dominion. ■ At an earlier gathering Lord Bledisloe was presented with, an address by the Rev. J. H. Haslam, president of the Methodist Conference which is now sitting at Dunedin, on behalf of the Methodist Church of New Zealand.
