Mrs. W. Glenny is at New Plymouth and is the guest of Mrs. Turner. Mrs. A. J.' Gibbs is visiting Wanganui. where she will compete in the crdquet tournament.

Miss M. Luckstedt will return to Napier to-day following a holiday with her mother, Mrs. A. N. Williams.

Mrs. Fry, Feilding, is the guest of Mrs. S. Mcßae.

Mrs. Gordon Fraser is spending a holiday in Hawke’s Bay. Edna McDonald, who is to be married shortly, was the Kakaramea Women’s Institute’s guest on Wednesday afternoon. /

Mrs. Ede, Christchurch, is spending a holiday at Patea and is the guest of Mrs. E. Papps.

Miss Ann Huston, who will leave this week-end for Auckland to commence training for Karitane nursing, was farewelled by friends at the Patea Presbyterian Church on Tuesday. She was presented with a toilet set by the Rey. H. B. Burnett on behalf of the congregation. His tribute to her work was endorsed by the Rev. W. H. Wilson. Miss Huston said she would take away with her many pleasant memories of Patea, which she would always regard as home. Miss Huston was similarly honoured at a gathering of members of the Kakaramea Women’s Institute on Wednesday, when, the president, Mrs. F. Ramsbottom, presented her. with a crystal perfume container. She was presented with a beautiful posy by Mrs. Anthony. Community singing was led by Miss M. Gibson, Eltham, with Miss G. Hall at the piano and Miss L. Sutherland, playing the violin. Items were contributed by Misses A. Huston, L. Sutherland, G. Hall, M. Gibson and A. Hall. On Wednesday evening' Miss Huston. was farewelled by members of the Alton and Kakaramea Bible classes. Following an address by the Rev. H. B. Burnett, Mr. Keith Tarrant expressed the general regret at Miss Huston’s departure. They asked her to’accept a mantle clock and good wishes for. her future.
