ESCAPE FROM BANDITS
FORTUNE OF MISSIONARY WOMAN TIRES ON MARCH FAITHFUL CHINESE COOK ANOTHER NOW CAPTIVE By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright Rec. 7.30 p.m. London, Feb. 23. Miss Grace Emblem, a member of the China Inland Mission, who was captured by bandits with Messrs. Hayman and Bosshardt, the men still being in captivity, arrived at London to recuperate. She attributes her freedom to the devotion of a Chinese cook, Suen Lin, employed by the mission. - Suen Lin begged the bandits’ permission to accompany her and frequently assisted her during their eight ' ; days* march to the mountains, on which they continually passed bodies of people the bandits had killed. Miss Emblem then collapsed exhausted and the bandits went on. Suen Lin remained and escorted her to a Catholic mission, where she stayed until the roads were sufficiently safe to reach Hong Kong. The China Inland Mission has been informed that the Australian, Mr. S. C. Frencham, stationed at Ningkiang, in the province of South-west Shensi, where he founded a mission four years ago, has been captured by bandits. 'There is no news of his wife.
