RACING ACTIVITIES

Racing fixtures for this week wifi be confined to the North Island. Ranking next to the metropolitan carnivals at Ellerslie and Trentham the Te Aroha Jockey Club’s autumn meeting, which opens to-morrow, is assured of Domin-ion-wide interest. Race-goers in the lower half of the North Island will be adequately - catered for by the Woodville Jockey Club’s fixture, which opens, todhy and concludes to-morrow. Next week will be a busy one in the racing world, as meetings are carded in both Islands. The Te Aroha carnival will conclude on Monday, and will be followed by the Opunake Racing Club’s meeting on Wednesday. On Saturday, March 2, Banks Peninsula will provide the South Island attraction, while the Napier Park Racing Club and the Franklin meeting at Pukekohe will also provide popular attractions.
