NEW ZEALAND SELLS TO U.S.A. RESULT OF PROLONGED DROUGHT. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Jan. 19. Owing to prolonged drought conditions in the United States and southern Canada resulting in the slaughter of a great number of cattle, also the removal by winds of soil from a large tract of farm lands there is a . serious shortage of supplies and New Zealand butter has been purchased by New York from London to relieve the position. The New Zealand Department Of Industries and Commerce also took action, and 10,000 cwt of butter is now on the way from New Zealand to New York.
