ROMANCE IN VENICE
COUPLE MEET AT JAMBOREE. i' Melbourne, Jan. 4. Venice, that wonderful city of romance, cast jis spell over an Australian youth and an American girl when they met by accident in St. Mark’s Square nearly two j\ears ago. He 'was a Boy Scout on his way to the jjungarian Jamboree, and she was enjoying a holiday in Europe with her parentis. Thei’r meeting was only a Very brief one/ and they went their ways, all unconscious of what the future had in stor(e.
After the jamboree he went to London where by chance they_ met again.. She remarked that it would be curious if he happened to be in West Virginia the following Christmas. He made sure that he was. _ . To-day he came up from the Frankston Jamboree to greet the girl at Station Pier when the Mariposa arrived from America. She is Miss Genevieve Ruge, whose father is Professor of Modem Languages at Salem College, and he is Scoutmaster F. Riddle, of the Ist Minlaton Troop, Yorke Peninsula, South Australia. Of course, it will be a real Scout wedding.
