Fitzroy beach has been definitely approved as the venue for the championships and the programme has'been , ar- ’ ranged as follows:— . ■ Friday,..February. 22... Afternoon: Visit to Mt. Egmont,- to be arranged. 8.30 p.m.: Conference of -delegates- at Devdn tearooms; meeting of judges-at place to be arranged by Mr. R. G. Howell. Saturday, February 23. 10.30 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Competitions. ' 7.30 p.m. to midnight: Combined New ■ Plymouth swimming and surf clubs' carnival and dance at KawarOa Park. Sunday, February 24. . . 10.3d,p.m. to 5 p.m.: Competitions. ' ■ 8.30 p.m.: Social at place to be arranged. Three extra events have been ar? ranged for thi: championship competition programme, a beach belt race, a chariot race and a beach 4-man relayrace. The land drill will be an exhibition only by a Taranaki team. The spectators are expected to number thousands, especially on the Sunday, - when 1 three special trains will arrive at ■ New Plymouth from Taumarunui, Wa- - nganui and Hawera. Special fares will' be available for passengers from Wellington and other southern stations. Competitors and officials are being given free entrance to the baths and to the Fitzroy links for golf and the Fitzroy Seaside Park Society will grant free camp sites to competitors. The Taranakiassociation will efect tents for reels and officials and these will also be. available for camping. The closing date for entries and the nomination of officials is.
