CITIZENSHIP BILL
INTRODUCED IN IRISH SENATE. POWERS OF FREE STATE. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright Dublin, Jan. 17. The Citizenship Bill was introduced in th; Senate by Mr. de Valera, who said it was important to define clearly who were Free State citizens, owing to the possibility of foreign treaties relating to their rights. A member of the Opposition, Mr. Browne, K.C., declared that the Free State was powerless to abolish the status of British subjects inside or outside the Free State" The Bill passed the second reading.
