THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 21, 1935. Entries for the above close on January 31; TAUMARUNUI PRICES SMALL YARDING OF STOCK. NO IMPROVEMENT IN VALUES. (Special to News.) Taumarunui, January 15. There was only a small yarding of sheep, cattle and pigs at the Taumarunui stock sale to-day. Although the whole yarding was cleared under the hammer there was no improvement in prices. There was a fair attendance of farmers. The sheep and cattle were ordinary farmers’ lines, but the pigs, particularly those sold on account of Mr. C. Blank, Tokirima, showed quality and proved that Central King Council farmers are improving their swine stock. The following prices were obtained:— Pigs: Weaners, 10s, Us 6d, 13s 6d to 14s; slips, 13s, 14s to 18s 6d; porkers (good), 345; sows in pig, 50s; sows with litters, 375, 42s to 475; store pigs, 19s 6d. Sheep: Fat ewes 18s, fat wethers 235. 3d, good mouth ewes 17s, store lambs £l. Cattle: Yearling heifers 34s to 355, yearling steers 34s to 445, bulls 19s to 345.
