HITLER’S REASSURANCES
NO MORE CLAIMS OF LAND GERMAN DESIRE OF PEACE CO-OPERATION IN EUROPE By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Rec. 1 a.m. Berlin, Jan. 15. “The voice of blood becomes an iron law,” said Herr Nelstadt Buerckel, Herr Hitler's Saar Commissioner, in announcing the result to Herr Hitler. Herr Hitler replied; “Fifteen years’ injustice to the Saar Germans is coming to an end. The treaty has been rectified which promised peace but brought in its wake endless bitterness and oppression. “With the return of the Saar there will be no more territorial claims by Germany against France. I declare that no more claims will he raised by us. We are now certain that the time has come for appeasement and reconciliation. “I want to express my gratitude and satisfaction at the loyal help other countries have given France and ourselves through the difficult days by guaranteeing an orderly procedure during the plebiscite. We want to assure the world of our deep desire for the presence of peace. Just as we were determined to win back our equality of rights in the fullest measure, afterwards we shall cooperate fully in the creation and preservation of that international solidarity which is essential to the welfare of the peoples of the world.” j Herr Hitler greeted the Germans of the Saar who returned to the open arms of the home country. He added: In these coming weeks you representatives of the German people and the Reich, I know, will not forget you must* continue to act ‘in such a way that no blame is attachable to you.” After Herr Hitler’s broadcast a choir sang “Great God, We Praise Thee and Magnify Thy Works.” The Saar song followed. The church bells rang throughout.
