“Kangaroo” Sheep.
“I think your New Zealand sheep must have two short legs in front and two long legs behind so that they can negotiate the mountain country,” said Mr. J. R. Foster, a visitor from Victoria, in an interview with the Christchurch Press. Mr. Foster said that he had been amazed by the mountainous nature of New Zealand sheep-country. In Victoria the sheep were grazed on land which was . level as far as the eye could see, and in New South Wales on rolling downs.
