OAONUI A BEATS PUNGAREHU. At Pungarehu the Oaonui A team defeated Pungarehu by 12 Sets to four in a Moron tennis shield competition match. Results were as follows, Oaonui players being mentioned first:— Women’s singles: Miss R. Mitchell beat Miss C. Brophy 7—5, Mrs. Bosworth beat Mifts I. Gray 7—2, .Miss E. Roach beat Miss M. Brophy 7—4, Miss A. Dobbin beat Miss E. Gilhooly 7—6. Men’s singles: Bosworth beat B. Brophy 9—5, H. Turn beat L, Beardmore 9—B, Quigley beat J. Priest 9—5, Hunia beat J. Armstrong 9—6. Women’s doubles: Mrs. Bosworth and Miss R. Mitchell lost to Misses C- Brophy and I. Gray 4—7, Misses A. Dobbin and E. Roach beat Misses M. Brophy and E. Gilhooly 7—5. Men’s doubles: Bosworth and Turu beat Brophy and Beardmore 9-8, Quigley and Hunia beat Priest and Armstrong 9—3. Combined doubles: Bosworth and Miss R. Mitchell lost to Brophy and Miss C. Brophy 2—7, Turu and Mrs. Bosworth lost to Beardmore and Miss I. Gray 5—7, Quigley and Miss E. Roach beat Priest and Miss M. Brophy 7-5, Hunia and Miss A. Dobbin Jost to Armstrong and Miss E. Gilhooly 3—7. Personal. Mrs. B. Doyle and Misses K. Aylward and L. Doyle, Oaonui, are spending a holiday at Wellington. Mrs. D. Wells, Oaonui, is visiting Wellington.
