BUTTERFLIES’ FEATS
CROSSING OF ATLANTIC OCEAN. How far can a butterfly fly? That question is prompted by the reported discovery of no fewer than 30 appearances of the monarch, or-milkweed, butterfly in Britain during the past summer. This insect, which measures four inches across its outspread wings, comes all the way from America. It is well known that it has a habit of flying long distances over land, but to cross the Atlantic Ocean is a still more'remarkable feat.
