WOULD LIVE TO 100

DOCTOR’S PROPHECY COMES TRUE. RECOVERY AFTER AN ILLNESS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Nelson, Last Night.; The death has occurred at Wakefield of Frederick Faulkner in his 101st year. His father with two sons came out to Australia in 1852, a few years later coming to New Zealand and settling at Waihola South, Dunedin. After some years they returned to England but came back to New Zealand. Looking for a milder climate, they chose the Nelson district, eventually settling at Wakefield, where Mr. Faulkner lived for 58 years. When he was five years of age in England, Mr. Faulkner had a severe attack of smallpox. The doctor remarked that if he recovered he would live to be 100, a prophecy that came true. Mr. Faulkner was unmarried.
