WHY THEY DID NOT GET TEA r PHE FOLLOWING interlude was described at a recent district court martial at Bordon, Hampshire. Scene: Messroom —The tea bugle sounds. Rifleman David Anderson, aged 20, of the Second Cameronians (Scottish Rifles), and a native of Glasgow, is the messroom orderly. Ten Minutes Later. Three men enter for tea. Anderson is of opinion that they are late and that they have, therefore, forfeited their right to be served with The three thirsty soldiers are not of the same opinion. A Lance-Cor-poral endorses their view and orders Anderson to serve the tea. Anderson refuses and is placed under arrest. He strikes one of the two men, detailed to escort him, on the jaw and rushes for the door, dealing another blow at one of the three men who wanted tea. Sentence was left to be promulgated later.
